Fibromyalgia is a condition where the patient has Erase My Back Pain Review pain throughout the body and, to be diagnosed with Fibromyalgia you need to have at least 13 of 18 targeted points or spots on your body that are very sore. For years, Fibromyalgia used to be thought of as a diagnosis that was used when they couldn't find anything else wrong with you. Today we know that it is real but the true cause of it is still debatable. In my office I look for a couple different causes of the condition and what surprises me is that almost all of the patients have a neurological cause of Fibromyalgia. Now when I talk about a neurological cause I am saying that in your neurological network in your brain there is a loss of communication allowing your upper brain stem to run a muck. The thing that causes this loss in communication is a little thing we like to call STRESS. It could be chemical stress from prescription medication, over the counter medication or recreational drugs. Another type could be emotional stress like a divorce or a bankruptcy. The last one that I see most in my office is physical stress from an auto accident or a slip or fall. Did you know that a majority of auto accident patients will develop Fibromyalgia if it isn't taken care of correctly? Once you get this type of Fibromyalgia the recovery process can be difficult and it may take a long time to recover. Most of these patients fall into the category of not having enough tender points to really be diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, but the problem is still there. Their doctor might say, "You just need to exercise more and take these anti-depressants." That doesn't fix the problem, the drugs will cover it up and if you are in pain exercise will not happen. Did you know that it has been shown that someone with Fibromyalgia will lose gray matter in their brain (premature aging of the brain) significantly faster when compared to a person without Fibromyalgia? Also, 30-60% of Fibromyalgia sufferers will be unable to work due to this condition. This is pretty staggering for a condition that your MD says you really don't have. What you need to do is find a doctor trained in chiropractic neurology and functional medicine to evaluate your case. They tend to dig deeper to find the real CAUSE of the problem, and once found works to correct it. If I had to give a percentage of how many of my Fibromyalgia patients receive relief after receiving brain based therapy and a true metabolic work-up it would be in the high 90% range. Find the cause so you can find the cure. Well until next time Good Health and Good Living.
