We talked to our expert Dermabellix Review curators last week and did some additional research to come up with the five things you should be doing to have your skin looking and feeling its best between now and the warmer (and more humid) Spring and Summer months. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize The single most important thing you can do to do prevent "dermacide"? Moisturize! And, do it more than once a day. Men - you should be paying attention to this one. You can use cheap lotions available at any supermarket for protection, but for really deep moisturizing actions we recommend using scientifically-based solutions from companies like Murad, Dermalogica, and MD Skincare. Our favorite product this week is French skin care company Caudalie's Moisturizing Concentrate. It's built for the driest of skin and helps restore moisture. Exfoliate once a week Exfoliating helps remove dead skin and unwanted dryness, and is a good habit to add to your winter arsenal. Do it once a week. You don't need to scrub yourself raw - our experts recommend using a gentle exfoliator like dr. brandt microdermabrasion exfoliating face cream. Give your lips some love We've all noticed how much drier our lips have become over the past few weeks. While widely available petroleum-based lip balms like Chapstick may be enough for our rugged male readers (although we think they'd be happier with Jack Black), for the ladies...we recommend something a little better. Sara Happ offers two great lip-smoothing products: The Lip Scrub and The Lip Slip. Apply a small amount of the Lip Scrub on your lips, rub it around, smooth it off, and apply the Lip Sip for a sheer, no-color, moisturizing treatment. Infused with sweet almond, jojoba & macadamia nut oils, the Lip Slip will heal and protect through the winter months. Gently cleanse your skin The last thing you want to do during this time of the year is strip your skin of its natural protections by using abrasive and toxic cleansers. Instead, use a cleanser like md skincare All In One Facial Cleanser with Toner. It's packed with chamomile and Vitamin E to really soothe skin.
